Ethics in Information Technologies
According to expert, technologies will progress far
beyond of the control of those who make it. As a whole, technology is governed
by ethical principles rather than control by them. It is important to
understand the security, privacy issues and major negative impacts of IT on
cyberspace. Although some technical approaches such as: encryption, digital ID,
and firewall methods have been developed to overcome some of the problems but
also legal actions must also be enforced worldwide.
Information Technology (IT) has a central role in commerce, industry,
government, medicine, education, entertainment and society at large. Its
economic and social benefits hardly need explanation. But like any other
technologies.
The IT industry needs experts today to make proper prediction regarding
future security problems and they act accurately to implement prevention
approaches not cure after problem. IT experts must implement collaborative
approaches across diverse industry sectors such as education, transport,
engineering etc.

promote moral and social values in society.
b. To
motivate people to recognize these issues when making business decisions.
c. To
suppress dishonest business practices and to protect and encourage fair
competition.
d. To
control plagiarism, student identity fraud and the use of copyrighted material.
· Ethical Rules for Computer Users:-
a. Do
not use computers to impair other users.
b. Do
not use computers to steal other’s information.
c. Respect
the privacy of others, just as you expect same from others.
d. Always
use a computer in ways that ensure consideration and respect for other humans.
e. Do
not copy copyrighted software without author’s permission and always respect
copyright laws and policies.
